Hello! I thought I would take a moment to introduce myself. I am T. M. Cole. I am a writer, author, soul searcher, and (yes) a dreamer…I’ve spent decades keeping dream journals.
Writing has always been a passion in my life. I studied journalism in college, and spent some time writing for the college newspaper. Later I worked as a free-lance writer (stringer) for a local daily newspaper. Seeing my first by line, and actually earning a token sum of money, was enough to convince me that I could make it if I worked at it. But by the time my daughter was ready to start school, I put my writing ambitions on hold and worked as a nurse to support us.
Fast forward several years and I took up the challenge of writing my first children’s novel A Slip In Time: The Book of Eventide. It was a fascinating journey, start to finish, but it didn’t bring in much money. Still, with that I was able to become a proud member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI).
Up until a few years ago, I was still working as a nurse. That changed when my eyesight started to deteriorate faster than expected as a result of Cone Dystrophy. I went through an extended period of depression as I gradually became legally blind. I found help and support through the people at the Foundation for Blind Children. I have to give them a lot of credit. Without them, I might not be the capable person that I am today.
The good news is, I discovered that being blind didn’t stop me from seeing vividly in my dreams. Stories still blossomed late at night through the deepest recesses of my dreaming mind. So, I decided to start this Dream Blog, and now I’m a blogger too. I hope you will enjoy taking this journey with me!
